Advice for the day:
If you have a headache, do what it says on the aspirin bottle:
Take two, and keep away from children.

As Dave's still suffering with his back I've been delegated to do all the driving - great! - as it's not something I enjoy but needs must and I'm just getting on with it - and today we BOTH had hospital appointments...OMG! we're just TOO old...
--------------------
Anyway I drove to the hospital, found a parking space AND reversed it in - YAHOO - opened the boot and got coats etc out -- slammed the boot shut and off we rushed - well I rushed off (as I was a bit late - again!) but I left Dave in the car park taking 'dolly steps' to his out-patients appointment.
-----------------
We met up afterwards and got back into the car to continue our journey into town - I put it into first gear started to pull away and there was this awful thud noise coming from the boot area 'What the f**k was that?' questioned Dave. I got out of the car to take a look and saw that rather a large piece of tree was hanging from the boot
------------------
....obviously when I slammed the boot down earlier I caught the overhanging tree in it... OOPS!

I've got a new Acer desk-top computer - the first one had to be returned because it didn't work - :(
--------------
So another was delivered last week and yee-hee plugged it in and off it went - that was until I tried to install the printer (that was working perfectly well on the old computer!!) & of course the new one doesn't seem to know the meaning of 'plug & play'. SO I've spent many hours over the last couple of days trying to sort it...you know the sort of thing you come up against...computer says 'YIPPEE! software installed' but when I actually believed it (silly me - will I never learn?) and tried to print something...ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HAPPENED..
-------------
It didn't help when Dave says 'You've plug in all the leads, haven't you? I can tell you the look I gave him was enough to make him sneak back into the garage and mind his own business.
----------------
Who does he think I am - just a mere woman? or a computer genuis?

A printer consists of three main parts:
the case, the jammed paper tray and the blinking red light.

A teenager lost a contact lens while playing basketball in his driveway.
After a fruitless search, he told his mother the lens was no where to be found.
Undaunted, she went outside and in a few minutes returned with the lens in her hand."How did you manage to find it, Mom?" the teenager asked.
"We weren't looking for the same thing," she replied. "You were looking for a small piece of plastic. I was looking for £150."

...I know that feeling...

Dave had an appointment this morning with the Physio at the hospital regarding the latest episode with his back - he's still in a lot of pain and even though he now can get out of bed and walk about (in a fashion) it's still a long way from OK.
---------------
He's now waiting for an appointment to start Hydro-Therapy to see if that'll help him at all and also has another appointment on Monday with the Physio again.
---------------
So we've got a round of doctors & hospital visits coming up
.................
...Oh Well! at least it's a nice drive back & forward to the hospital...

I can't believe that I forgot to blog for 2 days -- two whole days -- what's the matter with me??----------------
Anyway, I'm here now :0)
Dave's still suffering with his back and had another appointment with the doctor this afternoon - he's given him stronger painkillers for a week to try and relax the 'spasms' that he's getting as soon as he stands or tries to sit for longer than a few minutes...he's really fed up with it now & moaning about what he could be doing...he's coming into the 9th day of being laid-up so it's a long time for Dave to be doing nothing -- I can tell you.
-------------
I've been to the gym again this morning (4th week) for my back and I'm also taking a brisk walk every day and I must admit that it is helping. So it's definitely worth the effort.
---------------------
I'm getting quite nervous about starting the new job tomorrow but I'm sure it'll be OK once I'm there and started
...I've sorted out what clothes to wear - so that's what's important...
Isn't it???

I've been humming and erring for ages about whether or not to buy another desk-top computer or my very first lap-top but I can't justify buying a lap-top really, it's just that 'everyone' seems to have one and I feel that I might be missing out on something by not having one.
----------------------
But the last couple of weeks or so my desk-top has been playing up - again - so I made the decision to go for another one and put the lap-top on hold for now. So I did a bit of research by reading peoples reviews, googling PCs and speaking to Tom (youngest son) who knows a lot more about them than I do and he said 'Acer lap-tops are reliable and have never given him any trouble' so I took the plunge and bought an Acer desk-top.
----------------
It arrived yesterday and has been returned to the shop today - guess what - it doesn't damn well work - unbelievable!! I've spent all this time, finally make a decision - paid my money and now I'm back to square one - asking the question
...What Do I Buy...???
-----------
What is with us & brand new products?
......they either just don't work properly or won't even switch on......
GGRRHH

I've been walking round today in much of a daze - silly I know - but it's been a LONG time since I was offered a job, I can tell you....
------------------
I had to phone the human resources department at Mortons (the other vacancy) this morning to cancel the interview that was already booked and I must admit it felt really good to say. 'I've been offered and accepted another appointment'
-----------------
What I really felt like saying was. 'Hard luck, sucker, you were just too damn slow'
-- OH HAPPY DAYS --
ME ;0)

He was in so much pain last night that I was on the verge of calling an ambulance but he kept saying, 'Wait I'll be OK' and after an age, the painkillers started to kick in he was more relaxed
...................
That was until he needed a wee in the middle of the night and he just couldn't even beginning to sit up let alone stand & walk to the bathroom
so there I am...3 o'clock in the morning... holding a bucket...still half asleep
...well you get the picture - don't you...?

It was the last boot fair of the year at Stickney yesterday, so Dave & I set the alarm for 7.30am to get up early and when it went off we both promptly fell back to sleep again until 9am :0)
...so that worked a treat then...
------------------------------
Even though we didn't get there until well after 10am there were still dozens of boots with lots of punters milling around and I got loads of bargains
-- mostly 'stock' for eBay, of course and numerous other treasures that I just couldn't live without --
...What Will We Do On Saturdays For The Rest Of The Year, I Wonder...??

We have cornfields to the rear and side of us so I know that I'm never far away from them but it's one thing to know they're out there somewhere in the distance but it's quite another thing to gaze out of the window and see one sitting there, proud as punch, in my garden....I can tell you.....
-- I've spent most of today watching and waiting for the thing to return and get its comeuppance -- if there's no success soon I'll be looking for a gun & blowing its brains out --
