Outside Temp: 19c
---GOSH! another great sunny day--

weather has been superb again today -it just can't last, can it- ??
____________________

We bought a patio parasol a few weeks ago & actually got it out of the shed today for the first time, so as to eat outside this lunchtime.
Well, I got it out of the shed to erect it while Dave was making a sandwich inside - and what a god damn mess I got in....I managed to get the thing stuck half way up & just couldn't make it move one way or the other... :(
______________
Needless to say Dave had to come out & sort it for me - I ask you what is it with me and ANYTHING remotely mechanical??
...I should just stick to the things I know - like making sandwiches - and leave the 'difficult' things to Dave....
..............................................
So I'll stay in the kitchen next time

Dave & I spent the morning yesterday in Horncastle (9 miles from us) - I really like it there - small market town with some one-off shops, great craft shop & four charity shops (so I'm happy)

_______________

- I bought a couple of 'must have' items & a fantastic Monsoon skirt for ONLY £2.50 - but EVEN better is the fact that's it's a size 14 - and I can zip it up without even having to breath in -

WOW! Happy Happy Days

Outside Temp: 21c

The sun has been shining all day today - about time to I say - it's been SO blooming dreary here in Lincolnshire for days & days

__________________________

It was my day off from work today - yes folks - I've only gone & got myself another job. Three days a week (Mon, Wed & Thurs) & I know that I'm a real wimp when I say that I'm totally exhausted from doing the WHOLE 18 hours this week :)

Yesterday when I got in - I even had to go and have a lay down for five minutes - which turned into a couple of hours....

Reasons for Leaving My Previous Job:

Responsibility makes me nervous.

They insisted that all employees get to work by 8:45 every morning. I just couldn''t work under those conditions.

Please don''t misconstrue my 14 jobs as ''job-hopping''. I have never quit a job.

It's still so windy today but the washing has dried in double quick time so it's not all bad :)
_____________

...I absolutely HATE dunking - I HATE the way a perfectly good biscuit like a rich tea (my favourite by the way! ) go all soft and bits drop off into the bottom of the mug - YUK-YUK-YUK - what a waste of a great nibble....

I'm mentioning this because Dave (the love of my life) is a BIG TIME dunker - he says a cup of tea needs a biscuit to dunk! I've tried for nearly thirty years to 'wean' him off the idea but to no avail.....

He normally dunks hobnobs - sometimes even chocolate ones - and takes great pleasure in watching bits of oats making their way to the bottom

Wooden Horse Head Keyrings

Outside Temp: 14c

I've started knitting again - something I haven't done it for donkeys years & I blame Kirsty Allsop (from the TV) for getting me started!

I've been watching her new series on Channel Four about decorating your home with traditional handmade things - making your own lampshades, re-upholstery your furniture, stencilling and of course knitted things

.... and it's given me inspiration to get the knitting needles out and 'do something'...

______________

So I decided to knit crafts to add to The Craft Shed
I've bought a pattern for lots of 'gift' ideas, new knitting needles & of course knitting yarn and sat down last night to make a start on baby face brooches & spectacle cases

-- which has turned into a bit of a disaster --

__________________

Firstly, I'd forgotten how to cast on & off - D'OH! - and then misread the pattern completely! My baby faces look more like 'blobs' of coloured nonsense & I'd only cast off (once I'd remembered how to do it!!) on one side of the spectacle case - so the flap is all lop-sided...I ask you 'What a mess?' :0)

...Why E-Mail Is Like A Willy...

Those who have it would be devastated if it was ever cut off.

It's more fun when it's up, but this makes it hard to get any real work done.

If you don't take proper precautions, it can spread viruses.

We attach an importance to it that is far greater than its actual size and influence warrant.

If you're not careful what you do with it, it can get you into a lot of trouble.

We arranged for a couple of estate agents to call this afternoon to give us a valuation for the bungalow - and even though they certainly weren't great :( they weren't as bad as Dave thought they would be (at least we've still got some equity in it)...so we've decided at the moment to sit tight and wait for another six months to see how things improve.

And to be honest we're both quite pleased with the idea really :)

........................

But we definitely now need jobs - I have an application form for Age Concern ( to work there NOT become one!) & Dave has made contact with a local business to supply bird & bat boxes so it's not all doom & gloom.

yew dog keyring - £2.99

Outside Temp: 11c

As you know Dave's been making a 'few' crafts. He started with necklace pendants made of wood mostly but also unusual pebbles and has progressed onto quirky crafts & keyrings.
The latest idea are beach-huts & chalkboards some with cats & dogs on them - people definitely have a 'thing' for animals.

----------------

We've decided that as the place is now getting a little over-run with them all & obviously the cash would be nice - we've going to try to sell them in a big way.
So we've booked craft stalls at the Woodhall Spa Country Show on 17 May - EEK (that's next week!) - the Tractor Run @ Grainthorpe on 14 June AND the Belchford Wacky Races in September.
...We're also hoping to get in to the Revesby Country Fair in August...
...................................
We visited three of the four venues last year as punters and it was a great day out & more importantly there were L O T S of people there - so potentially L O A D S of money can be made :0)
..........................................
In the meantime, Dave's up to his elbows in sawdust & I'm scouring the 'tinternet for craft ideas and templates that he can adapt for --

Dave & I did took a stall at the Revesby Craft Fair on Bank Holiday Monday to sell a few of his craft pieces - well when I say Dave & I - I stayed for a couple of hours but then went home!!

................

Dave stuck it out until 3pm and at least he made a very modest profit - the weather was dry-ish but so cold (typical Bank Holiday Monday really!) so there wasn't THAT many people about & as we booked late we were in the church (the main stalls were in the hall) which I feel made a difference as punters had to make an effort to get to us & you know what most people are like if they can't fall out of their cars straight into somewhere

...most of them don't want to have to walk - Do They....?

....................

Anyway, all in all Dave said he enjoyed it and has already booked for their next one in July - luckily he managed to get the last stall in the hall - so he'll have to remember to take a wheelbarrow next time -
.
.

.
so as to carry his takings home, of course :0)

Firstly, apologies for not blogging yesterday - COMPLETELY FORGOT :(

_______________

OUCH! I've hurt my right knee & I think it's because I've been exercising TOO damn much
...I've already told you to stop laughing...

I think I've bounced a pain into it - the last couple of times I've used the trampette and also gone for my 'power walk' come to think of it I've had this warm feeling inside my knee-cap but now I've got a really 'tight' feeling behind it as well....

so much so that I've been wearing Dave's magnetic strap around my knee - so sexy with a short skirt I think :0)

.................

So I didn't power walk or bounce yesterday at all & I actually missed not doing it. I kept thinking 'I'll go and do it in a minute' and had to 'remind' myself that I wasn't going to for a couple of days...that's SO weird

so instead here I am already blogging and Dave's still snoozing in the pit - I expect he'll spend his 'spare time' in the garage working on a couple of more crafts as we are going to the Revesby Craft Market tomorrow to hopefully sell a few bits..not that we've had much success really so far..
