..It's A Sad, Sad Day...

...This Is Exactly How I Feel...

Going to the 'computer hospital' after lunch so thought I'd do an update now, as I don't know when I'll be back 'online' - BOY, what am I going to do?? I know it's sad but I'm so lost without access to the Internet - I'm hoping that it'll have a quick recovery - but I've got a feeling that it won't be coming back at all!! - I've been having problems with IE for months and have already had it for repaired three times...

...anyway, I'll keep you updated - I know you'll be sitting on the edge of your seat...

OMG! Have You Farted Again??

Hi...Today's Question - Does anyone else live with a farter??

I've lived with one for 27 years - it starts before he gets out of bed and continues throughout the day....I read once that fart means 'a small explosion between the legs' - WHAT A JOKE! ...I can tell you, it's a hell of a long way from small - they echo around the toilet pan and throughout the place, they are rarely short and often far from sweet...

He blames food - but I've said that NOT every food stuff causes that reaction

~ I eat (constantly) and I don't fart all the time - very rarely actually ~

...Sunny, Sunny Saturday...

Tom & Danielle have arrived safely back from their holiday in Cornwall - they've had a lovely time with good weather and have already booked another holiday for February '08!!
I'm still counting the days (15 to go) until Dave & I can go to North Yorkshire for our break - BUT it's starting to look a little doubtful though, as Dave has to have an operation on his toe and it's looking like that's going to happen in Oct. - that'll be SO typical - all this waiting around and then it'll clash -

What's Happening To Me??

me - april '06
Seen the doc today - I've been getting these 'night shakes/tremors' - been so scary. They first started a couple of days before August Bank Holiday (4 weeks ago) and woke me up, in the middle of the night, as my whole body was shaking so violently. Dave & I had no idea why - my first thought was Parkinson's (you know - because of the shaking) & Dave admitted to thinking I was having a stroke!!
It's turned out to be pills that I've been taking - I am a borderline diabetic and also have a glucose intolerance so my doctor put me on these new pills to try to control my weight and to stop me developing full-blown diabetes - I'd been taking them for almost five weeks, without problems, until this shaking business started. Last night was the FIRST night for more than 4 weeks that I haven't had the shakes at all - hopefully, that's the end of them - boy, I hope so....
NOT NICE - NOT NICE AT ALL!!

...sorry, can't talk now - I'm just too upset...

Steve (6th birthday) - he always cried!!
VERY frustrating day today - stayed at home - computer gone wrong and is doing 'funny' things so I've been playing around with that and trying to sort it - with limited success....so I've booked it into the 'hospital' on Monday - looks as if, at the very best, it'll need major surgery...but probably time to let it go to the computer graveyard...

OUCH! was that toothache?

(Tom - 4years old - obviously a bad hair day!!)
Another chilly start to the day today and windy with it - but the sky is blue with white fluffy clouds, even though as I speak the skies are darken by the minute!!
Heard from our estate agent yesterday, our new buyer's details have been confirmed and her surveyor is coming next week - it's always an anxious time for me, I always feel having a survey done of the property is like going to the dentist - you're pretty sure that there's nothing wrong but you never know what he'll find when he starts probing around.... mind you my dentist is a young Italian called Antonio so it's not such a ordeal to go these days

..OUCH! was that toothache? - better make an appointment....

...Beam Me Up, Scotty...

(I took this picture outside bungalow during Aug '07)

The weather is much cooler this morning - had a few spots of rain but nothing to get upset about! Dave's been in the garage playing with bits of wood on the lathe today - so he's more than happy!!
I've been watching a programme on TV about property prices in Mississippi, USA - unbelievably cheap - they were showing 2/3 bed detached lodges for around 60K - complete with alligators... I was so impressed with what your money could buy - it almost makes me want to move there...problem is Dave & I have never flown and I don't do sailing...bit awkward to get there then....

We Are The Champions!

Just got back from the Rounders Tournament - boy I'm shattered - we won 12 - 10 though - so it'll be worth the aching back, legs, arms, etc......later. Had a lovely lunch back at Eric & Pat's after we'd finished on the beach - it's only five minute walk from where we live - Dave had too much beer and became giggly - cue to leave - so we've walked back with Tom (our youngest) and Danielle - pic opposite - they're going to Cornwall today for a week's holiday - we've let them borrow our car so we're carless this week....
....Gosh, what wonderful parents we are....

Anyone For Tennis? - Sorry I Mean Rounders

Heard from Pat (my uncle Eric's partner) - picture opposite - she's arranged a family rounders tournament on the beach tomorrow morning - it's a yearly event that she organizes - them and us sort of thing. It should be a good laugh as we all act much younger than we really are.....and then go home with aching joints :0)
Dave's taking conkers with us (to play in time-out) to make the morning even more competitive - I wonder if we should supply goggles and hob-nailed boots, just in case people get hurt - we don't want an insurance claim, do we?

Yippee - North Yorkshire Here I Come!

(pic - Near Rosedale Bank Top are the remains of the kilns that roasted iron ore to drive off water and carbon dioxide gas to concentrate the iron-ore before transportation to the Teesside-Middlesbrough blast furnaces. The remains of the kilns are near the top of the 'Rosedale Chimney', a very steep road up from Rosedale Abbey).

A really G R E A T morning today, Dave & I have decided to getaway from it all for a couple of weeks and are going to my most favourite place, North Yorkshire. Boy, I simply love it there - just talking about it gives me a tingle!! As soon as we enter the county I get this butterfly feeling in the pit of my stomach - am I just too sad???
I've told Dave that I want my ashes scattered across the moors, but hopefully, that won't be for some time yet...........

Dave, Steve (then 2) & I first went to Rosedale Abbey (not too far from Scarborough) for a holiday in 1984 - I was pregnant with Tom at the time - and I just had this glorious feeling being there and we have tried to go back every year since - this will be the second time this year :0)
We were there for my 50th birthday in April and had high tea (cucumber sandwiches & scones - yes, they really have cucumber sandwiches with the crust removed - of course) at Betty's in Northallerton. Has anyone been there? - pretty expensive but a lovely step back in history.

.....We're planning to go on 7th Oct, I'm already counting the days.....

Can We Move.....Please?

(pic - Dave July '07)

Just finished my daily dose of Ugly Betty - boy, I'm so hooked!! Today's episode was about meeting her grand-mother in Mexico - it's SO bizarre - not only the storyline but the fact that I can't get enough of it - it's just not like me - I just don't normally watch things like this....
Spoke to Ken (solicitor) this morning (before Betty) about our pending house sell - this has been on-going since Easter this year - long story - I'll fill you in another time - and as always Dave & I are STILL waiting for something positive to happen - This house buying/selling business certainly isn't what it's cracked up to be...
We're hoping to have dates very soon but we've heard all this before so we won't be holding our breath...

...I've Discovered Betty...

(Ugly Betty looking anything but)
www.bbcholidays.co.uk

- It's a gloriously sunny day again here this morning -
I've been watching re-runs of Ugly Betty this week and I'm quite surprised to say that I'm really enjoying it - it's so bizarre! Does anyone else out there watch it?

Dave's gone coarse fishing for the day today and has loved fishing since a very early age, he was first introduced to it by his uncle, Ernie on a family holiday in Liverpool in the 1960's and he's been 'hooked' every since. He says there's no better way to relax and clear the mind - thinking only about fishing - I can't see it myself - my mind would be racing with all sorts of things....

Hi....It's Me!

(pic - Me - Apr '07)
Hi Everyone...

Another great sunny morning here in the Garden of England - that's Kent, UK to those who don't know.

Dave & I are waiting for dates to move from here to the lovely Lincolnshire Wolds, where we intend to start a new brand new adventure - a high quality self catering holiday business, it'll be known as - Bumble Bee Country Holidays or bbc holidays - Catchy Hey!
We've been talking about doing this for years and have decided that now both our boys, Steve (25) & Tom (23) have 'flown the nest' - it's time to pay-up or shut-up - so we're paying up and going to get it off the ground for the start of next season Easter '08 (hopefully) - so watch this space....

We already have a website www.bootblack.co.uk
relating to our current jobs - refurbishing property while living in them at the same time - please check it out when you're got a minute.
